A friend of mine was feeling sore today. He explained his gym structured workouts like a boxing gym. Patrons do 3 minutes of a routine like jump rope, or, hitting a bag, then rest. Usually these bursts of activity are followed by 1 minute pauses for rest.
Every person should try the boxing pacing workout. Do something for 3 minutes, rest for 1. Try 3 rounds of these in a busy life. You can try walking in place, jumping jacks, and, a fan favorite, shadow boxing.
Not all of us are like my aforementioned friend – a retired DEA agent overseeing a Latin American office who rides Harley, but all of us can work out hard.
